Dancers in Shadow

a Storyteller

Not content to be merely a "player on the stage", Hannah is also an accomplished writer and producer. Her first short film was produced in 2020 during the Covid 19 Lockdown and went on to win 6 awards. The joy and inspiration of that project was a springboard for her as a creator and she has now written several scripts and monologues, with one piece featuring in a production directed by Academy Award Winner Tim Robbins. Hannah is currently working towards producing her first two-act play, which she intends to preview in 2024.

Phantom Pain

There is no going back- no return to normalcy. We find ourselves waiting: haunted by the loss of a way of life… the loss of a future planned… the loss of loved ones that will not return. The limb is severed. The pain remains. And we move forward into the unknown.

The majority of the film was shot in one week while quarantining in April of 2020. We wore masks and stayed socially distant during the entirety of production, and found a way to use distancing guidelines to our artistic advantage. Everything filmed indoors was shot through a window or doorway, while everything outside was filmed from a minimum of 6 feet away. This voyeuristic perspective sets the tone for the piece, while keeping an element of realism in the otherwise surreal world we created.

We Live On

Hannah interviewed, transcribed, and wrote the biography of Ruth Ratner, a woman who survived the Great Depression with gumption and humor. The piece was then performed live by Hannah as well as professionally filmed as part of the ensemble project directed by Tim Robbins.

the "Agony" of Football
a musical parody

With a deep love for Sondheim and a deeper disdain for all things "sports", Hannah wrote and directed this comedic musical parody based on "Agony" from Sondheim's classic, Into The Woods.
